BeautifulGrids
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
BeautifulGrids ("we", "us", "our") operates beautifulgrids.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
What we collect
- Account info: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this to create your account and identify you.
- Payment info: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe provides us with your subscription status and customer ID.
- Google Drive access: We request access to create and manage files in your Google Drive that our app creates (drive.file scope). We cannot access any other files in your Drive.
- Images: Images you upload are stored in a "BeautifulGrids" folder in your own Google Drive. We cache them on our servers for up to 2 hours while rendering, then automatically delete them. Your images are never used to train any model.
- Interaction telemetry (opt-in only): By default we do not collect data about how you use the editor (which settings you adjust, what crops you keep). A toggle in Settings lets you opt in to share pseudonymous interaction patterns — which would help us understand what good layouts look like and may inform future product features and our own models. Your photos and content are never collected for this purpose. You can change this anytime, and we never share it with third parties.
How we use your data
- To provide and improve BeautifulGrids
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To upload images to your Google Drive on your behalf
- To render and export grids using your uploaded images
- To communicate product updates (you can opt out)
What we don't do
- We never sell your data to third parties
- We never access files in your Google Drive that we didn't create
- We never store your images on our servers beyond a 2-hour render cache that is automatically deleted; we never copy them anywhere else
- We never store your payment card details
Google Drive
BeautifulGrids uses the Google Drive API with the drive.file scope. This means we can only access files that BeautifulGrids itself created in your Drive. We cannot read, modify, or delete any other files in your Google Drive.
Images uploaded through BeautifulGrids are stored in a "BeautifulGrids" folder in your Drive. You can delete these files at any time through Google Drive.
Cookies
We use cookies for authentication (Google OAuth) and payment processing (Stripe). No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
Data storage and security
- Your account data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database
- OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest
- All connections use HTTPS encryption
- Authentication tokens expire after 7 days
- We use Stripe for payment processing (PCI compliant)
